Dixie Paint & Body Shop, a family-owned business, has been your local staple in the Tampa Bay Community for almost 100 years. Guiseppe Traina, an Italian immigrant from Sicily, opened our shop in 1926 with his sons. Back in 1926, there were only 5 or 6 shops in Tampa and all vehicles were painted with brushes.

Today, Dixie is run by third-generation Angelo Traina, Jr. Angelo started working at Dixie at the young age of just 10 years old. Over the years, all of his children & nephews have worked here at Dixie as well. When we say we are "Your Family in the Body Shop Business," we truly mean it. Angelo, Sr. started the tradition of starting each workday with coffee and Cuban bread from La Segunda Bakery for his staff and today, Angelo, Jr. carries on this tradition.

“To make a long story short, I am a single parent with four kids and my car was in an accident. I didn't know anything about Dixie Paint and Body Shop, but that is where they towed me.

I was stressing and stressing because I need a car, and I'm out of work. However, Mr. Angelo worked with me since the beginning. He told me not to worry about everything and that is was going to be okay. I didn't have the money right away but he started fixing my car anyway while I tried to come up with the money.

Basically Dixie Paint and Body Shop and Angelo have been such a blessing to me. Everything did work out like he said. I have my car, and it is running great. He even fixed some things on my car that had been broken before the accident. Angelo even knocked off some of the price of labor.

I would recommend them to anyone. Angelo helped me all the way around. The car is running great now. He was such a blessing to me and my kids. No one else would have done what he did for me.”

“Dixie paint & Body Shop are top notch!! I had to have my car repaired and cover the expenses out of my own pocket and the folks at Dixie were absolutely the best! The whole experience was pleasant right from the start. This is a family owned business that has been around since the 1920's. The owner Angelo was super kind and very knowledgeable about car repair and what my car needed. They stuck to the initial estimate given to me even though they went over.

“I had a very good experience with Dixie Paint and Body Shop. Someone backed into my car, and I went through my insurance company to get it fixed. The insurance company wanted me to use one of their shops, but I wanted to use Dixie. I saw their work on someone else's car and was impressed.

I only had a rental car for 3 days, and I was still able to drive my own car, so we timed the repair and rental to coincide. They ordered a bumper part from a vendor and then called me when it was in. I made the arrangements for the rental car and gave them my car.
In 3 days it was done! They kept their word. My car looks beautiful. I had prepared myself for a longer time because everyone I talked to told me I would probably be without a car for 2 weeks, but it didn't take more than the 3 days. They even reminded me to make sure I came into get the car on time so that I could turn in my rental in a timely manner and not have to pay for extra day.

They just seem like such nice gentlemen at Dixie Paint and Body Shop. No matter who I called, they were nice. I hope I don't have another wreck, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to use Dixie. They are easy to get to, and they always answered my calls. I loved dealing with them. I have already recommended them. Everything worked out beautifully, and I am really happy.”

“After a pretty bad fender bender, we took our Mitsubishi here for repairs. Everyone at Dixie was friendly and helpful and provided us with quick, comprehensive car repair. We told them that we didn't care what the car looked like when they were finished, as long as it worked, but when we got the car back it not only looked beautiful, it ran beautifully too - plus they completed all the repairs for us under our budget. Our car looks like it was never in an accident and it's been running great since we got it back.

“best bargan for your buck – i took my full size extended cab dodge truck to dixie paint & body shop. it had minor dents and scraches and was in need of a full paint job. i stated the date i needed the truck completed and it was finished on time and looked better than i imagined. i also took my girlfriends lexus, which was in a front end collision and needed to be towed in to angelo traina (owner operator of dixie). the lexus was returned to me looking like it had never been in an accident. all in all dixie did a great job with the repairs on my automoblies and i would be happy to use them again in the future. hopefully i dont need too. satisfied customer”
